The NYC Puerto Rican Day Parade marks the unofficial start of the summer

June 12, 2016: Today was the 59th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade, a New York City tradition, and the first major parade that unofficially marks the beginning of the summer. It's one of New York City's most popular parades and was mentioned in the summer events section of The Metropolicks We Call New York City: A Guide for Singles.
